For the 2023 Oscars, Michelle Yeoh is being questioned for posting a article that may have violated voting rules.
On March 7th, Yeoh took to Instagram posting screenshots of a Vogue Article called “It's Been Over Two Decades Since We've Had a Non-White Best Actress Winner. Will That Change in 2023?” She posted the screenshot hours before voting closed for this year's awards. A few hours after it was posted, it got deleted.
For this year's Oscars, Yeoh highlighted that there is a lack of diversity in the Best Actress Category. in the history of the Best Actress Category, Halle Barry is the only person of color that won in the category.
