Jennifer Hudson's EGOT Status

At the 75th Tony awards on June 12, 2022, Jennifer Hudson has won a Tony award to earn EGOT status. She took home the award for producing Broadway show A Strange Loop. She is one of the few people that have this title! Jennifer is the youngest women in history to hold this title.

A Strange loop was nominated for 11 tony awards at this year's show. It only took home two awards for Best Musical and Best book for a musical. “This brilliant, funny masterpiece exposes the heart and soul of a young artist struggling with his desires, identity and instincts he both loves and hates, "Hudson said when introducing A Strange Loop!

When the show had its world premiere in 2019 at the Playwrights Horizons in co-production with Page 73 Productions. But, due to the Covid- 19 pandemic it had to be postponed to December 2021. Following the pandemic, the previews for The Strange Loop started on April 14, along with the production premiering on April 24th.
