This week, the 118th Congress was sworn into the United States Congress and there was some history involved. In the 118th Congress set a record number of women in Congress. In Congress, Women now take up 28% as of 2023 which is the highest percentage in history which was better than the time between 1935 and 1954 when only 36 women were appointed.
During the 2022 midterms, two dozen Congresswomen were elected such as Katie Britt who was the first woman ever elected to Senate in the state of Alabama. Women are making a difference and it is now time to show that women belong in politics.
