How did you start your career off as an actor?

"I decided I wanted to be an actor when I was 7 years old. I told my parents I wanted to do what people in TV shows and movies did. They wanted me, as well, to overcome the shyness every little kid might have, so they accepted to put me in a theater class at a very young age. Ever since I joined my acting class, I really enjoyed it."

How do you think acting is different from your home country of Spain vs United States?

"I feel like everything is different in the USA, that is the case of the entertainment industry. While Hollywood is still the greatest movie making industry, Spain is producing more quality movies and TV shows every day and, with the rise of streaming platforms, it is true that it is much easier to have access to worldwide products. I hope I can move to the States at some point in my life, it is a country that holds such a special place in my heart."

You recently won Best Young Actress in a Short Film from The Young Entertainer Awards! What was your reaction to winning?

"I was amazed, so honored and thankful. I wasn’t expecting it, but it definitely made my super express trip worthwhile! It is a recognition that inspires me, I feel so happy to be able to tell stories through different characters and, hopefully, inspire people."

Tell us more about “The Kind Fairy?”

"Marc Rovira, the director of the short film, gave me the opportunity to star in one of his yet most elaborated films. It’s a beautiful story of mystery, magic, and the insecurities young girls might face. As I see it, the magic element is key in the story, and it is brought to life through the boss of the restaurant (played by Jordi Paris), he is such a sweet but mysterious character."

How did you handle directing, producing, writing and starring in your first original short film "Sinfonías del pasado"?

"It undoubtedly was a challenge, but, as you know, I love those. “Sinfonías del pasado” is a rather poetic film, it barely has talking, however, emotion is displayed through acting, color and its soundtrack. I faced some difficulties along the way but, all in all, it was a process I enjoyed a lot. I am thankful for the good reception it has had in various film festivals already."

How long was the process in creating "Sinfonías del pasado"?

"My beloved grandma passed away in 2022, and I knew I wanted to honor her with some kind of artistic creation. I decided to dedicate this short film to her, in fact, she is in various pictures of the family photo album as well as in the closing credits of it. I believe it took a total of approximately three months to get the script done, as well as, the production, the shooting and the final editing of it."

What does being an advocate for "Free2Luv" mean to you & how do you try to advocate for them?

"I have been advocating for “Free2Luv” for four years now, I am truly honored to be a part of this great cause. I believe that standing up against bullying is something of paramount importance, hence, we should let our voices be heard and try to let positive vibes lead our way. You can find me on social media (@saramartinoffic ), I often post pictures supporting them, I also like to take pictures whenever I travel with my “Friends don’t let friends bully” sign to raise awareness, I have some pictures holding it taken in Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., Las Vegas, Seville, etc."

What is some advice for upcoming actors?

"Don’t be afraid to experience new adventures and characters when it comes to acting. Also, don’t let a bad day determine your way of doing things in general, as well as, when it comes to performing. Don’t let pressure and insecurities get in your way, I know it is not easy, we all struggle with those at some point of our lives, however, acting should come from a place of peace and self-love. First of all, accept and love yourself, it is not an easy business, but that is what makes it, somehow, exciting. You got this!"
