The first day of college is a moment you never forget. For me, walking onto the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus felt like the start of something completely new—both exciting and a little overwhelming.

As I pulled into campus that morning, I couldn’t help but take in the scenery. PSU-WB is tucked away in such a peaceful, green environment, and it immediately gave me a sense of calm. I remember thinking, this really does feel like the right place to begin my journey.

Like most first days, there was a mix of nerves and anticipation. Meeting new professors, finding classrooms, and adjusting to a new schedule was a lot to take in—but it also made me realize that everyone around me was in the same boat. Students were introducing themselves, comparing schedules, and chatting about majors. There was this unspoken feeling that we were all starting fresh together.

One of the highlights of the day was how welcoming the campus community felt. Professors and staff were approachable, willing to answer questions, and genuinely excited to see us begin our paths here. By the end of the day, I already felt more comfortable navigating the campus and more confident about the semester ahead.

What stood out most, though, was the sense of possibility. The first day wasn’t just about attending classes—it was about realizing that I was officially a Penn Stater, part of a community bigger than myself, with endless opportunities to learn, grow, and connect.

I know there will be challenges ahead—late nights, exams, and figuring out the balance between school and everything else—but the first day showed me that I’m ready to take it on. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to see where my Penn State Wilkes-Barre journey takes me.
